I am amazed how Bali has changed since 1990s. Former expat kid who grew up in Jakarta with maids, drivers, etc. Bali was our playground back then. Canggu was a rice field. Kuta was the spot. Garuda had the amazing LA - Honolulu - Biak - Bali - JKT flight. Lots of surfers would fly in from LA. It’s just crazy how Bali has changed. Lots of westerners now in Bali. Potatoe head resort is owned by one of our classmates. Lots of friends still live in Bali. Nice village btw.

Hai Angela love your videos and what an amazing renovation! But just to re-iterate under no circumstance can a foreigner buy hak milik (freehold property) in Indonesia. By setting up a company PT/PMA you can acquire property HGB/ Hak Guna Bangunan which is still leasehold BUT the land is owned by the government and you can hold it for 30+ 20 + 30 years for a total of 80 years. A lot of people don’t understand this and it really needs to be shared with any foreigner looking to invest in Bali . Buying leasehold with Balinese land owners is very risky and having an Indonesian as a nominee to buy hak milik/ freehold land is illegal. Best of luck on all your projects! 🙏🏻
